VMWBO is a religious non-governmental organization dedicated to protecting the rights of Vietnamese migrant workers and brides. VMWBO is a member of the Migrant Empower Network in Taiwan (MENT). VMWBO used to be known as TaiwanAct and a member of the US-based Vietnamese Alliance to Combat Trafficking (VietAct).
Our objectives are four-fold:
- Combat and end Vietnamese human trafficking, labor exploitation, and bride trafficking.
- Timely provide ancillary support for trafficking and exploitation victims.
- Provide legal consultation, procure legal aid for victims in courts.
- Promote knowledge of the Taiwanese Basic Labour Laws for victims through know-your-rights trainings, empowering them to fight for their own human rights and dignity.
